Due to the popularity of my first list of school supplies by aesthetic, I decided to create 3 more lovingly curated inspiration lists. Enjoy!
Aesthetic #4: Artistic
The inspiration behind this list is traditional art. I love expressing myself through painting, sketching, and dabbling in graphic design. This list is for all of the student artists out there. If the margins of your notebooks are filled with doodles or if your room smells like oil paints…. this one is for you. 😉
Notebooks: These artsy notebooks would make a great addition to any artist’s schoolbag.
Pencils and Pens: It’s hard for an artist to resist the urge to create. While you might not be able to bring your easel into the classroom, you can enjoy these little reminders.
Backpacks and Pencil Cases: This pencil case has a hand-painted look and the paint splattered backpack looks like it had a run-in with Jackson Pollock. Both of them are great reminders that art takes many forms.
Calculator: In color theory, purple often represents creativity. That makes this lavender calculator the perfect fit for the artistic aesthetic.
Bonus Items: These aren’t exactly school supplies, but I could never resist keeping these travel art items in my backpack.
Aesthetic #5: Monochrome
While I was planning the artistic aesthetic list, I remembered something. A common art class exercise is to challenge yourself to create a picture using only black, white, and grey. The monochrome aesthetic is a really interesting alternative to the usual colorful school supplies.
Notebooks: These notebooks are exhibit A, the first evidence that monochrome doesn’t equate to “boring”.
Pencils and Pens: Grey can be warm or cool and these supplies do a great job of displaying a wide range of greys.
Backpacks and Pencil Cases: An adorable peeking kittens pencil case with a simple grey and black back pack are one way to complete this aesthetic. I suggesting adding a collection of your favorite monochrome pins to the bag to personalize it a little more.
Calculator: This calculator feels like it was made for the monochrome aesthetic. It’s also a wonderful calculator that will serve you well throughout several advanced level math and science classes.
Aesthetic #6: Anime
Anime is a very popular genre of entertainment so it only seems right to include an anime aesthetic. I adore the movies of Hayao Miyazaki like My Neighbor Totoro and Kiki’s Delivery Service. If you are an anime fan, this list might contain some anime school supplies that you’ll love as much as I do.
Notebooks: My favorite notebook brand, Kokuyo Campus, made a really cool line of anime inspired dotted ruled notebooks. This kind of notebook works great for creative notetakers who like to sketch diagrams or visual reminders in their notebooks.
Pencils and Pens: These Totoro pencils give me a nostalgic feeling. The warm colors are very calming, too. The Pusheen pen has a wide array of colors which would be perfect for students who like to take color coded notes like I do.
Backpacks and Pencil Cases: I love this subtle One Piece backpack and stylized Naruto pencil case and I think a fan of either of these series would agree. They are a nice, tasteful way to represent the anime aesthetic.
Happy studying!
